Fighting S.A.D. is more than just a support service—it’s a movement built on connection, compassion, and the belief that no one should fight alone. We are proudly a branch of Sapphire Crest, a visionary company dedicated to empowering lives through innovative, heart-driven services.
Did you know Nicolas is Greek for "victory to the people"? It’s rooted in Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, and it perfectly reflects my passion for helping others overcome challenges and find strength. I truly believe I was born to be of service, and through Fighting S.A.D., I’m here to help you find joy, hope, and connection in your life.
Hi, I’m Nicolas Lam, the founder of Fighting S.A.D. My inspiration comes from witnessing how many young adults struggle with anxiety, depression, and loneliness—and how difficult it can be for parents to understand these feelings. I’ve experienced these struggles myself and know what it feels like to face them alone. That’s why I created Fighting S.A.D.—to provide a safe and supportive space where people can find connection, understanding, and hope as they navigate life’s challenges.
My work is built on three pillars:
My mission is simple: to offer support, connection, and if possible, to help save a life.
I’m not a therapist. I don’t prescribe or diagnose. I’m something in between a life coach, mentor, and supportive companion.
I listen.
I encourage.
I walk with you through the hardest moments.
Whether you’re already seeing a doctor, therapist, or receiving other forms of care, I’m here to aid you on your journey. I offer both comfort (a safe space to be heard, understood, and supported) and solutions (practical steps, challenges, and tools that help you grow).
My role is to stand beside you—not as a replacement for professional care, but as an ally in your fight—helping you find laughter in the little things, courage to use your voice, and hope for tomorrow.
When I’m not supporting others, you’ll find me listening to oldies doo-wop music, working out, or enjoying a game of bowling. I believe in finding joy in the simple pleasures and balancing work with fun.
Whether you’re here for yourself or someone you love, Fighting S.A.D. is here for you. Together, we’ll find ways to build connection, strength, and joy in your journey.
Fighting S.A.D. began nearly 5 years ago as Let Me Be Happy, born from a simple belief: no one should have to face suicide, anxiety, or depression alone.
Our mission is to create safe spaces and real connections where people can find both comfort and solutions—whether through one-on-one support, group events, or shared experiences. We exist to remind you: you are not alone, and you never have to be alone again.
We’re not therapists, and we’re not here to diagnose. What we offer is something different—a balance of understanding, connection, and practical support.
We believe mental health support doesn’t always have to feel heavy. That’s why we bring people together for positive, uplifting experiences—like group walks, game nights, workouts, or simply good conversations.
Alongside support and events, we provide practical resources that help you manage everyday struggles—like coping strategies, ways to boost resilience, and insights on seeking professional help if needed. We’re not here to replace doctors or therapists, but to walk beside you on the journey.
Fighting S.A.D. is for everyone—from those in the middle of the fight, to those who simply want to share positivity and support.
We believe in the power of connection. By opening up, sharing stories, and celebrating wins (big or small), we help each other feel less isolated. Together, we replace stigma with strength, and loneliness with belonging.
At the heart of Fighting S.A.D. is a simple truth: we’re people helping people. Our team is made up of individuals who’ve faced struggles themselves and are committed to helping others through compassion and action.
Our promise is this:
Whether you’re seeking comfort, solutions, or both—we’re here, walking with you every step of the way.
Proudly rooted in my hometown of Hutchinson, where I’ve lived for nearly 20 years, Fighting S.A.D. is dedicated to supporting our local community. We provide comfort and solutions for those facing suicide, anxiety, and depression. This includes:
Sometimes, what people need most is a voice on the other end—someone to talk to when the silence feels too heavy. Our Text/Call services are designed to provide:
Our events are designed to lift spirits and build connections. They include group activities like walks, bowling, workouts, game nights, and movie nights. Each event is about finding joy in shared moments and reminding people they’re not alone.
Yes, we welcome contributions from our community. There may be opportunities to share your story, offer peer support, or help organize events. Please reach out to us directly for more information on how you can contribute.
Traditional paths—therapy, counseling, medication—help many, but not all. Too often, people still feel misunderstood, unseen, or alone.
With nearly six years of experience supporting others, I’ve seen the difference genuine connection makes. Fighting S.A.D. exists to provide:
The payment sustains the work we do, allowing us to keep providing these services, hosting events, and building a community where no one has to fight alone.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a severe mental health episode, please:

Thank you for visiting Let Me Be Happy - Fighting S.A.D. To fight Suicide, Anxiety, and Depression is a team effort. It is my goal to be there. To help a friend smile. To stop the tears, to empower them. To let them know,
You never have to be alone again.
The World is a Stage.
Everything either happens for a reason, or we have yet to find out why.
For the longest time, I was stuck on why. So much so that why turned into lost, and I lost myself.
I was scared to live.
Scared to act.
Scared to love.
Scared to be seen.
If I had lost myself any further, if roses had been placed over me, the sweetest words would have been spoken.
Yet while I was alive, all they could do was talk behind my back.
The what next that once unraveled me became a What Next that remade me.
And in finding myself, I found my magnitude.
Now, I step forward.
Now, I put on the Play of a Lifetime.
